LOCATION: Home Office Based in Manitoba or Eastern Saskatchewan.

Our client (FP Genetics) is one of Canada’s largest privately owned seed companies. They are searching for an agronomist with an aptitude for customer service to become their newest PRODUCT SPECIALIST. In this role, you will become the “GO TO” expert when growers, independent agronomists and line company sales reps have questions about cereal varieties, pulses crops and hybrid fall rye.

As the Product Specialist you will have four main responsibilities. First, is relationship building and customer service with line company staff, independent agronomists and large growers. You will provide answers to their questions about cereals, pulses and hybrid fall rye. As you become a trusted advisor within your territory, and you will watch for times when an FP Genetics variety would be a good solution to their query, and you will follow up after the sale.

Your second responsibility is business development through seeking out new customers, (large growers, line company locations, and independent agronomists), providing great customer service, building long term relationships and promoting FP genetics when opportunities arise.

You will be the face of FP Genetics to the independent agronomists, large growers and line company staff. Your third responsibility is to participate in marketing and extension activities like trade shows, crop tours, farmer-day presentations, research trials and agronomic extension so you increase brand awareness and become the person they call with questions.

Finally, your fourth responsibility is end-use downstream market development.  You will watch for opportunities to promote FP varieties with end users and food processors like distillers, millers, bakers and maltsters.

To be considered you must have agricultural customer service experience and solid agronomic knowledge. Preference will be given to applicants with a relationship selling and territory management experience. Seed sector experience is a definite asset.

Relationship building requires face to face interaction, so this job requires significant travel. We estimate that on average you will be on the road around three days per week.

LOCATION: Home office between Regina and Winnipeg. Brandon would be ideal because being near the center of your Saskatchewan East / Manitoba territory would result in less driving time.
