NOTE: This position has been filled.
LOCATION 1: Manitoba
LOCATION 2: Southern Alberta or Southwestern Saskatchewan
Our client, Albaugh, is the largest supplier of post-patent crop protection products in the world. They are an American company with North American based production. The Canadian business unit has the advantage of NA supply, eliminating challenges associated with offshore manufacturing. Albaugh has been selling post-patent products and manufacturing private label products for Canadian retailers for over a decade. Their Canadian business has tripled in the last three years; plus, portfolio expansion will enhance the offering further. To continue their rapid growth, they need two more Western Canadian Territory Managers. One to cover Southern Alberta & Southwestern SK and one to manage Manitoba.
As the new Territory Manager, you will run your territory with a large degree of autonomy. You will call on Ag Retailers in your territory, presenting the opportunities Albaugh products offer: high quality products and no complex programming. Then, you will present the business case that shows how much more profitable they will be when they recommend Albaugh products. You will be asking retailers to make changes in their portfolios and how they go to market, therefore overcoming objections is key. Finally, you will stay connected with your retailers to ensure customer satisfaction and build the relationship for future business. Introduction calls with potential new customers must be done face to face, while ongoing relationship building may be done with video and phone calls. Initially 60-70% of your time will be spent travelling in your territory prospecting and building relationships.
Our client runs a lean and nimble Canadian business unit with very few layers in the organization chart. You will report directly to the Canadian Business Director. If you hate bureaucracy, this is the place for you!
To be considered, you must be a tenacious independent self starter who is comfortable introducing a new option to Ag retailers. You must have at least five (and preferable more) years of agricultural sales experience plus good agronomic knowledge. Experience in the crop inputs sectors is a definite asset, but not a deal breaker.
